In the article “How to Make Love on Chakra #1 (Muladhara @ Base)” I shared that engaging in love making without both partners moving the sexual energy away from the first two chakras (Muladhara and Svadhishthana) will make this into a very challenging task for men, since ejaculation control will be very difficult with the ever increasing building up the sexual energy in the area of the genitals. As such, this is an advanced practice, and will most likely require a shorter love making session to keep the men sane. But this practice is also very beneficial for purifying Svadhishthana, the second chakra, and thus in the long run, rendering lovers’ sexuality and relationships into a much less complicated experience psychology-wise.
Now let’s look at what Svadhishthana is about and how you can work on improving its qualities and strengths.
Svadhishthana chakra is located in the sacrum area, about 3 finger-breadths above the genitals (roughly where the pubic bone meets the lower abdomen).
Svadhishthana carries the energy of the water element. As such it is influenced by the moon and magnetic forces. So for example the energy of a full moon can lead to a very powerful activation of Svadhishthana chakra. If you have ever been to a full moon party (usually in Asia) then you could see it in action. Also men are likely to notice that it’s much easier to control their ejaculation during the phase of the new moon, and most challenging on the full moon.
This is the chakra of sex – so romance, desire, lust, playfulness, undulation, seductiveness, wetness and juiciness are all aspects of this chakra. G-Spot orgasm and female ejaculation fit right there in the energy of this chakra.
Positive aspects include creativity, fantasy and imagination and then the darker ones include instincts, social conformism, reputation, selfishness and materialism.
In general, it’s a relatively easy to access and understand this chakra to most people, since this is the dominant chakra of the modern world, with the exception of a few tribes that are still on Muladhara, the first chakra, and some fiery nations, like Thailand and Japan, whose original culture is more on Manipura (albeit the “global village“-effect and the Internet drag those nations back into the energy of Svadhishthana).
And here are some excellent helpers to keep your focus on the Svadhishthana chakra during love making, so that you could enhance and purify its energy. Before you start with the chakra-specific tools please make sure to read first the explanation on how these tools work and why they can help you.

Love Making Positions
The classical “missionary” position activates the Svadhishthana chakra:

Use the essential oils of Musk to help activate Svadhishthana chakra. Add a few drops of the essential oil to an oil diffuser or an oil burner in the space where you make love.

Wear on your body a jewelery that embeds Silver, Pearls, or Moonstone.

Easy listening music with lots of clarinets & saxophone, most jazzy music, belly dance music, a lot of the chillout style of music all fit into the realm of Svaddhishthana chakra activation.

Movies
It’s probably easy to say that more than half of modern movies depict characters on the consciousness level of Svadhishthana chakra, because, well, this is where the majority of humanity is these days. Of course most of the characters in such movies don’t have a very pure Svadhishthana, so a lot of shadow sides get explored.
If you were to pick a few major categories that almost guarantee Svadhishthana activation those would be children animation (Disney and alike) and fantasy movies.
Here a few excellent movies to start with:

Further Learning
If you feel inspired and would like to dive even deeper into the science of chakras, here is a list of books I recommend to read to deepen your knowledge of chakras:
- Shyam Sundar Goswami – Laya Yoga – The Definitive Guide to the Chakras and Kundalini. This is a very in-depth and advanced text on the science of Tantra.
- Swami Sivananda Radha – Kundalini Yoga for the West. This is a much easier to read text than the above “Laya Yoga”, yet it’s still a very in-depth treatise on chakras.
Other important books to study:
- Nik Douglas, Penny Slinger – Sexual Secrets – The Alchemy of Ecstasy. This is an excellent in-depth guide on Asian sexuality (Tao, Tantra, etc.).
